Anyone interested in groovy funk music and occasionally on the social media platform Instagram will most certainly have stumbled upon "Funky Times". With their short, concise, virtuoso, good mood clips, the trio consisting of the brothers Julius & Leo Imhäuser and Julia Lange has been thrilling the network since 2020. Their trademark: colorful "windbreaker jackets" that are reminiscent of the 80s, combined with original grooves that make it hard to sit still. The cast of their short live videos with two electric guitars and drums led to a large number of online collaborations with bassists and various instrumentalists from all over the world.
As a young band, whose founding went hand in hand with the first lockdown, they had neither a conventional career start nor hope for concert opportunities in the near future. But, they are full of creativity and want to share their music with the world. They produced and released their debut single "Sweet Disco Times" on their own last year, which had the famous German YouTuber Marti Fischer as a special guest. As part of Julia's "Quarantine Concert" for the "Stars von morgen @home" series, the video for the song can also be found on the online media libraries of ZDF, 3Sat and ARTE.
The full EP was released online on June 25th, 2021 and the next production is already in the works.
At their live concerts one can look forward to an expanded band line-up with bassist and keyboardist.
